Fundación Cordillera Tropical's outreach and
education program aims to change behaviors and raise awareness toward conservation using innovative marketing tools. Over the past twelve months, we have combined our focus on education and the training of local people as para-biologists, with an environmental awareness campaign.

We use the Andean bear (Tremarctos ornatus) as a focal species for conservation of montane and páramo ecosystems adjacent to and within southern Sangay National Park. Since 2008, researchers have used remote cameras located along wildlife trails in the forest to identify and track individual bears. These videos are made from individual photos taken with the remote cameras.
Radio Spots
Beginning in July 2011, Fundación Cordillera Tropical developed radio spots to project our conservation message to rural and urban audiences.
